Very similar to the 1969. Grill is similar to 1969, except the plastic insert now consists of twelve groups of four short horizontal fins arranged with six stacks of fins above the center bar and six stacks below. First year for the optional 402 ci. engine.

The 1970 model is virtually identical to the 1969 model.  The only visual difference is the appearance of the  plastic inner grille.  The "egg-crate" inner grilles are identical in design on both the 1969 and 1970, but a different paint scheme makes them appear different.    The 396 cubic inch V8 was replaced with the 402 cubic inch V8 (called the 400).  This is also the first model year to offer an optional tilt steering wheel.  The 1970 model still has drum brakes front and rear.
